Tālofa lava 🌺 Bula 🌺 Malo ni 🌺 Fakaalofa atu 🌺 Mālō e lelei

Our Wilford School Pasifika group welcomes all Pasifika families to be part of our school wide network. At our fono (meetings) we discuss matters that relate to and support student learning for our Pasifika children. We support each other and leadership of the group is shared. We discuss our ideas, have fun and share a meal together as a community.

Pasifika
 Fono - Thursday 30 May 6:00pm
On our agenda we covered: Uniforms for our students attending PolyFest in week 10, our communication with other Pasifika families at Wilford School, our aspirations for our children and how that may be reflected in a Wilford School graduate profile and our upcoming Chop Suey fundraiser in week 7.

Each week our Pasifika student group are working really hard on their songs and dance.  We are very proud of them all. Thanks to Maria who comes in to support their learning.

Celebrating 2019 Samoan Language Week

Our junior school students celebrated Samoan Language Week with some very special guests from another school. Dahlia Malaeulu is a former teacher who supports the Wainuiomata Intermediate Performance group. They gave our junior classes a fantastic performance yesterday in the school hall. Dahlia has authored some new books which are available in Samoan and English.

These books promote the learning of Gagana Samoa by providing accessible tusi faitau (reading books) that engage our tamaiti (children), fanau (family) and all faiā`oga (educators), Samoan and Non-Samoan, in a fun and interactive way. If you would like to find out more about the books please do not hesitate to email your queries or view her Facebook page: @Mila'sMyGaganaSeries for more details. Thanks to Dahlia and the students from Wainuiomata Intermediate for their performance. All our students enjoyed the performance.
