Nga Rangatahi Yrs 7 - 8

Nga Rangatahi (Modern Youth)

Kia ora, we are the only Year 7 and 8 class at Wilford School.  The class has 56 students and two teachers.  Stephen Moli and Ailsa Webb are a co-teaching team.  This means that both teachers are responsible for the academic, social and general welfare of all students.  Stephen has taught previously in the junior school and is sports leader for Wilford School.  Ailsa Webb has taught all year levels between years one to eight. She is Deputy Principal and syndicate leader for Nga Rangatahi.  New students and their families are always welcomed through our school powhiri held at the beginning of each school term.  Throughout the year students are offered a range of opportunities to support their own personal and academic development.  Examples of these opportunities include a range of STEMM activities outside the school, snorkelling at Wellington's only marine reserve and participating in a range of activities outside the school.  Students are encouraged to pursue projects of interest to them personally.  Developing school leadership and preparing students for college is a focus within this syndicate.  We finish each year with a graduation ceremony for Year Eight students and their whanau as they prepare for college.  Parents and caregivers are welcome to pop in at anytime.
